 Bongos
begins with the highest quality specialty Arabica coffees grown throughout
the world, between 4,000 to 6,000 ft. All of Bongo’s coffees are
sustainable. They are either organic, shade grown or socially responsible
and/or Fair Trade certified. One of the most inspiring approaches to
Bongo Billy’s Coffees® is in the way they are roasted,
thanks to Bill Mehaffey’s background as a Biochemist.
Bill approaches high altitude roasting  at
8,000 feet scientifically using a process development matrix. In this
matrix all of the elements of each individual coffee and/or blend is
analyzed one at a time. By considering each element he brings out
the unique flavor characteristics in every cup.
High elevation roasting at 8,000 feet truly enhances the roasting process
and the resulting cup characteristics you will experience. Bill & Cheryl
Mehaffey, founded Bongo Billy’s in 1994. It was the desire to find
a way to live and fulfill their passions that brought them to Buena Vista,
